FLORENE R. BLACK,
92, of Cass City, died Sunday, July 21, 2013 in Northwood Meadows Dementia Care Unit. She was born October 5, 1920 in Granville, TN to James and Alta (Jones) Daniel. She married Gerald E. Black May 1, 1959 in Los Angeles, CA. He died November 19, 1998.
Florene spent a great deal of her life in Hemet, CA. Recently Florene moved to Yuma, AZ to be near her son. Florene and Gerald enjoyed walking and golfing. She enjoyed attending area farmers markets, dining out and spending time with her friends. Florene was a Los Angeles Dodger baseball fan. Her grandson and great granddaughters were very important to Florene and her home was filled with their photos.
Florene is survived by her grandson, John W. Riddle of Fenton; granddaughter-in-law, Lori Riddle of Cass City; great granddaughters: Alliah and Claudia both of Cass City. She is preceded in death by her son, William Carl Riddle.
Private interment services will take place at a later time at her grave in Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
