VIRGINIA MAE BILICKI,
87, of Deford, died following a short illness Tuesday, June 21, 2011 in Rose Arbor Inpatient Hospice, Kalamazoo. She was born March 14, 1924 in Detroit to John and Anna (Glac) Kapala. She married Edward Peter Bilicki October 2, 1943 in St. Michael Catholic Church, Wilmot. He died January 6, 2010, leaving a very large hole in Virginia's life.
Virginia graduated from Cass City High School. She attended Aribright Business School in Battle Creek. Virginia worked for the Tuscola County Intermediate School District as a teacher's aid retiring after over 23 years. She enjoyed antiques, bowling and crafts. Virginia was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and their altar society. Virginia also supported Association for Retarded Citizens in Caro.
Virginia is survived by her children: Karen (Gareth) Smith of Brighton, Lynn (Steve) Duriga of Tucson, AZ, Edward John (Rainell) Bilicki of Oriental, NC, Jane (Tom Harris) Bilicki of Kalamazoo; grandchildren: Edward, Jedd, Carrie, Sarah, Julie, Heather; great grandchildren: Green, Braden, Gavin, Linnea, Aven and Brady; sister, JoAnn Asher of Cass City; sisters-in-law, Rita Kapala of Lapeer, Mary Ann Kapala of Oak Park; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Norbert Kapala and Anthony Kapala; brother-in-law, Alden Asher.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2011 in St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. William Bonnici officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wilmot. Pallbearers for Ms. Bilicki: Gareth Smith, Jedd Smith, Steve Duriga, Scott Vroegindewey. Memorials may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church.
