Edyna M. Bell, 81, of Cass City, died Wednesday, January 29, 2003 in Hills & Dales General Hospital. She was born November 4, 1921 in Caro to Ernest and Martha (Keilitz) May. She married Jack C. Bell December 6, 1947 in Caro. He died September 29, 1993.
Edyna worked for many years as a secretary for various businesses in Caro. She did a great deal of volunteer work with Women in Crisis in Pennsylvania and Hills & Dales Hospital Auxiliary where she was a former Treasurer and received her pin for serving over 1500 hours. She was a former member of the Caro United Methodist Church and a member of the Cass City United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women where she served as a former secretary. Edyna enjoyed traveling including many cruises with Jack. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She made lap blankets for the church sales and to donate to Tendercare. Edyna loved to read and truly loved and enjoyed her grandchildren.
Edyna is survived by her son, Derek (Elaine) Romain of Cass City; step daughters: Carole J. (Clifford) Lowe of Ishua, NY and Nancy Bedell of Bedford, TX; grandchildren: Wendy, Rod, Pam, Debbie, Sheldon, Patrick, Kelly, Brian and Greg; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by son, M. James Romain; a granddaughter; brothers: George May and Clayton May; and her parents.
Funeral services held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2003 at Cass City United Methodist Church, with Rev. George Ward officiating. Memorials may be made to Hills & Dales Hospital Auxiliary, Rawson Memorial Library or Cass City United Methodist Church.
