CAROLINE C. BANDYK,
92 of Pinconning, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 in Able Manor Adult Foster Care Home, Clarkston following a long illness. She was born November 13, 1917 in Detroit to Joseph and Mary (Przywara) Katnik. She married Frank A. Bandyk January 27, 1962 in Plymouth, MI. He died August 27, 2003.
Caroline worked for Kelsey-Hayes Company during World War II. She later worked as a machine operator for Burroughs for eleven years. After their marriage, Caroline joined Frank in Pinconning where together they raised Frank’s sons. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and many different arts and crafts. After retirement Caroline and Frank traveled a great deal becoming snowbirds to Florida, Texas and Las Vegas, Nevada. Caroline enjoyed visiting the casinos and loved the slot machines. Living through the depression made her a tough lady with strong beliefs.
Caroline is survived by her step-sons: Tom (Sue Ellen) Bandyk of Grand Rapids, Dr. Dennis (Pam) Bandyk of Tampa, FL, David (Suzan) Bandyk of Milford and Dr. Mark (Elizabeth) Bandyk of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren: Steven (Kerri), Jennifer, Peter, Matthew, April, Alyssa, Jessica, Lindsay, Stephanie, Emily; great grandchildren: Connor, Lindsay; several nieces and nephews including special nephew, Michael O’Connell of Naples, ME. She is preceded in death by her brothers: Joseph Katnik, Edward Katnik and sister, Irene O’Connell and infant brother.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Rev. Richard Jozwiak officiating. Interment will be in St. Agatha Cemetery, Gagetown.
