Jack G. Baker, 67, of Cass City, died Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at home with his family at his side. He was born March 29, 1939 in Barnard, North Carolina to Clennan Scott and Evoline Jay (Reeves) Baker. He married Marlene Adell Davis October 26, 1957 in Port Huron.
Jack served in the Army National Guard Reserves. He worked as Center Manager for UPS Cass City until his retirement in June, 1995. He was a member of the Cass City Lions Club, White Creek Club, LOOM Lodge #158 of Port Huron, and the Eagles Club of Port Richie, Florida. Jack loved the outdoors. He loved gardening and yardwork, woodworking, golfing and he especially loved being a Grandpa.
Jack is survived by his wife, Marlene; children: Lori Baker of Fort Gratiot, Linda (Brian) DuQuesnay of Cass City, Jack (Anne) Baker of Troy; grandchildren: Brenda DuQuesnay, Amy DuQuesnay, Scott DuQuesnay, Alivia Baker; mother, Evoline Baker of Port Huron; brother, Donald (Karen) Baker of Port Huron; mother-in-law, Marion Davis of Port Huron; sisters-in-law: Vondah (Douglas) Miller of Port Huron, Linda Calvin of Port Huron; brothers-in-law: James (Mary) Davis of Port Huron, Edward (Jean) Davis of Cedar Springs. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Andrew Baker; father, Clellan Baker; father-in-law, Delmar Davis.
Funeral service held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2006 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Rev. Paul Donelson of Cass City United Methodist Church officiating. Memorials may be made to Children’s Leukemia Foundation or I.M.P.A.C.T., 3240 Simpson Road, Fort Gratiot, MI 48059.
