RICHARD LEWIS BAERWOLF,
59, of Sandusky, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at his mother’s home. He was born July 27, 1951 in Cass City to Elwyn Lewis and Dorothy (Ball) Baerwolf. He married Kimberly Anglebrandt August 27, 1983 in Peace Lutheran Church, Sandusky.

Richard worked for Trelleborg Automotive, formerly Yale Rubber, in the Quality Department for over 30 years. He also worked as a school bus driver for Sandusky Community Schools for over 11 years. Richard was the leader of the congregation of Christ the King Church in Kingston. As a young person Rich was a projectionist for his family owned Starlite Drive In. He also was projectionist for Sanilac Theatre and Sandusky Theater and later for the Highway Drive In. Richard enjoyed sports serving as a Little League Coach, and using his deep voice as an umpire for area baseball and softball leagues and as a referee for basketball teams. He enjoyed playing cards especially Up the River Down the River. He was an avid chess player. Rich will be remembered most for his jokes and story telling. Many people have seen his toothpick churches and know he enjoyed fixing things. He would tinker with anything that needed repair.

Left to remember Richard and cherish his memory: his wife, Kimberly; children: John Baerwolf of Richmond, Angela (Dennis) Beals of Croswell, Amanda (Michael) Sopha of Deckerville, James (Hayley) Baerwolf of Davison; grandchildren: Karly, Vanessa, Skyler, Micayla; mother, Dorothy Baerwolf of Sandusky, brother, David (Carol) Baerwolf of Lapeer; nephews: Nicholas Baerwolf, Joshua Baerwolf; niece, Catherine Wonders; two great nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, LuAnn Baerwolf, and his father, Elwyn Lewis Baerwolf.

Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2010 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Pastor Debbie Brown of Kingston United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Downing Cemetery, Deckerville. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
