DOROTHY JUANITA BAERWOLF
87, of Lapeer, formerly of Sandusky, died following a lengthy illness Saturday, May 4, 2019 in Willowbrook Manor, Flint. She was born October 6, 1931 in Ellington Township to William and Vinora (Highlen) Ball. She married Elwyn Lewis Baerwolf June 4, 1949 in Caro. He died May 16, 1996.
Dorothy graduated from Cass City High School and briefly worked for a dentist office in Cass City. She managed the grocery store in Pigeon for two years until starting and caring for her family. After their children had grown, Dorothy worked with Elwyn in their electrical business. She was proficient in needlework and baking. Dorothy could always cook up something good even when she didn’t have much to work with. A caring and kind person, she loved everyone she met.
Dorothy is survived by her son, David (Carol) Baerwolf of Lapeer; grandchildren: John Baerwolf of Richmond; Amanda (Michael) Sopha of Deckerville; Nicholas (Sheena) Baerwolf of Joplin, MO; James (Hayley) Baerwolf of Flint; Joshua Baerwolf of Dallas, TX; great grandchildren: Karly (Alex) Miller, Vanessa Beals, Skyler Beals, Micayla Sopha, Alexis Sopha, Ayden Baerwolf, Riley Baerwolf, Aeramae Baerwolf, Spencer Baerwolf, McKinley Baerwolf, Oliver Baerwolf; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Luann Baerwolf; son, Richard Baerwolf; granddaughter, Angela Beals; brothers: Millard Ball, Ralph Ball, Ronald Ferguson.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Pastor Jake Geiseler of Faith Bible Baptist Church of Lapeer officiating.
