SHIRLEY A. BADER
Shirley A. Bader, 75, of Cass City, died Saturday, October 25, 2008 in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, following a long illness. She was born January 17, 1933 at home in Decker to Benjamin and Iva (Robinson) Watson. She married Robert D. Bader September 25, 1954 in Cass City. He died June 22, 2005.
Shirley worked with Bob as bookkeeper for Village Service Center for many years. After they sold Village Service Center, Shirley began working for Chemical Bank as a bank teller, retiring after 10 years of service. She was a very active member of Shabbona United Methodist Church serving as church treasurer for many years. Shirley was also a member of United Methodist Women holding many offices throughout the years. She was a volunteer for Youth for Christ and Bay Shore Camp. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and spending time with family and friends.
Shirley is survived by her children: Gary (Cindy) Bader of Cass City, Bill (Celeste) Bader of Deford, Phil (Brenda) Bader of Findlay, OH, Sherry Bader of Cass City, Jeff Bader of Cass City; grandchildren: Nick, Aaron, Tyler, Dustin, Steffin, Amy and Renee Bader; brothers: Grant Watson of Caro, Ben “Hazen” (Elaine) Watson of Bad Axe; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dale (Sandra) Bader of Cass City, Marjorie (Arthur) Caister of Cass City, Helen Hubbard of Kingston, Donna (Gerald) Auten of Cass City, Wanda (Ronald) Parrott of Mio, Audrey Halas of Royal Oak; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by: sister, Betty Miller; and her parents.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2008 in Shabbona United Methodist Church with Rev. Ellen Burns of Shabbona United Methodist Church and Jeff Bader, Chaplain officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Shabbona United Methodist Church or Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. Pallbearers for Mrs. Bader are her grandchildren.
