STUART ARTHUR ATWELL,
89, of Cass City, died Sunday, November 21, 2010 in Tendercare Nursing Facility, Cass City. He was born April 17, 1921 in Cass City to Arthur C. and Lena (Rice) Atwell. He married Evamae “Edie” Legg March 14, 1942. She died September 7, 1972.
Stuart served in the US Army during World War II as an instructor at Fort Benning. He earned his Bachelors degree from Michigan State College. Stuart started Atwell Equipment Supply where he designed and sold grain elevator equipment. He also owned Cass City Cycle Sales. Stuart was a PSIA certified ski instructor. He liked to ski and ride motorcycles.
Stuart is survived by his daughter, Lynn (Charles) Osgerby of Caledonia; grandchildren: Erin (Jason) Filipiak of Holland, Mark Osgerby of Lansing; special friend of almost 30 years, Betty Fry of Cass City.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24 , 2010 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Debra L. Kranz, Funeral Service Celebrant officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice. Military honors under the direction of Cass City VFW Post #3644.
