HENRY “HANK” WILLIAM ASHMORE
72, of Cass City, died unexpectedly following a brief illness on Thursday, December 2, 2021 in Henry Ford Hospital, West Bloomfield. He was born August 29, 1949 in Cass City to David Charles and Wilma Lucille (Hartsell) Ashmore.
Henry graduated from Cass City High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army. He was assigned to the HHC 1st Battalion, 63rd Regiment, 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam before coming back home to Michigan. He retired after thirty years as a CNC machine operator with Kerkau Manufacturing. Henry was a sports enthusiast and an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing, and especially hunting. He will be remembered for his goofy sense of humor and generous spirit.
Henry is survived by his sons: Robert (Nancy Charleston) Ashmore of FL; Ryan (Meca) Ashmore of Lapeer; grandchildren: Madison, Ryden, Nicholas, Reid, Ridge; sisters: Judy (Tom) Elliot of TN; Sharon Grant of Saginaw; brothers: David (Andrea) Ashmore of CO; Dale (Clara) Ashmore of CO; Roger (Mary) Ashmore of Bay City. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Connie Ashmore; Karen Mayer.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Pastor Reggie Courliss of Elkton Missionary Church officiating. Interment will be in Grant Township Cemetery. Military honors conducted by the Cass City VFW Post #3644 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Cass City VFW Post #3644.
