Ray Armstead

Ray Armstead, 74, of Cass City, died Sunday, September 22, 2002 in Covenant Health Care Center in Saginaw. He was born July 16, 1928 in Argyle Township, Sanilac County to Alvin and Willhellmina (Robinson) Armstead. He married Betty Shagena October 16, 1948 in Argyle.

Ray was self employed as a contractor for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved travelling and camping with his wife and spent 3 years touring the U.S.A. Ray and Betty lived in Zephyrhills, Florida for the past few years where he was a member of the Moose Lodge.

Ray is survived by his wife, Betty; children: Ray Jr. (Sylvia) of Ann Arbor, Randall Lee (Susan) of Goodrich, Gregory G. (Shari) of Beaverton, Michael D. (Susan) of Roseville; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Wilhelmina Kroetsch of Snover, Lucille King of Mt. Clemens. Ray is preceded in death by his siblings: Carol Kritzman, Pherl Neiman, and Sherman Armstead.

Cremation services will take place at Sunset Valley Crematory. Interment is in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City.
