JOY ANTHONY
Joy Anthony, 78, of Ubly, died Sunday, January 9, 2005 in Marlette Hospice Residence. She was born December 24, 1926 in Flint to Archie T. and Leita M. (LeMay) Solman. She married James E. Anthony October 30, 1948 in Pontiac. He died March 1, 1973.
Joy worked as a Real Estate Salesperson for over 55 years, most recently for Osentoski Realty in Bad Axe. Joy and James built Wildwood Farms restaurant in 1972. She was a former member of the Cass City Zonta Club and a current member of the Ubly Library Board. Joy loved to travel. She was a member of the Nomad Travel club. She had traveled around the world twice. Joy also took part in several Windjammer trips.
Joy is survived by her sons: Kim (Barbara) Anthony of Ubly, Kevin (Jean) Anthony of Ubly; grandchildren: Matthew (Christine) Anthony, Kathryn (Joseph) Khoury, Nicholas Anthony, Michelle Anthony, Kristopher Anthony; great granddaughter, Laci Renae Anthony. She is preceded in death by her brother, Lee Solman.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2005 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Joy’s nephew, Dr. Steven Anthony, District Director of Nazarene Church, officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City. Memorials may be made to Marlette Hospice Residence or Ubly Library. Visitation: 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2005. 10 to 11 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2005
