 ALVENA “BEA” RHINEHARDT

Alvena “Bea” Rhinehardt, 91, of Lapeer, formally of Lake Orion, Cass City, and Caro, died Monday, March 3, 2025 in Stonegate Health Campus in Lapeer. She was born January 9, 1934 at home in Snover to Louis and Leona (Shagene) Behr. She married Troy Rhinehardt on June 25, 1955 in Angola, Indiana. Troy died on May 30, 2023.

Bea was employed by Pontiac Motors for over thirty-five years. She held multiple positions but spoke fondly of driving unlicensed cars and being introduced to the computer before retiring. Bea was a founding member of Good Sheperd Lutheran Church in Lake Orion. She participated in golf and bowling leagues and often shared about the great times she had traveling with the teams. Bea also enjoyed sewing and created clothing for herself, as well as her daughters. She was also involved in assisting the completion of numerous quilts for family and friends. More than anything Bea found joy in working in her beautiful flower gardens.

She was fond of listening to music particularly Engelbert Humperdinck, Tom Jones, and Boots Randolph. Bea and Troy cherished the times they played games like Pedro, Euchre, and Uno with their children, grandchildren, and family members. Most important to Bea was her family. She loved spending time with her granddaughters and nieces and nephews. Bea looked forward to mini trips around Michigan with her sisters, sisters-in-law, and favorite nieces. And to no one’s surprise, she was top dog when it came to all family pets.

Bea is survived by her daughters: Peg (Bob) Otterstetter of Lake Orion; Karen Sue (Mike) Lee of Lake Orion; granddaughters: Lauren (fiancé Frank DeLong) Lee, Jennifer (Kirk) Luca; sisters: Audrey (Dale) Leslie of Decker, Beverly (Dale) Mitchell of Carleton, Nancy Palmer of Sandusky; brother: Robert (Karen) Behr of Caro, and sister-in-law: Charlotte Behr of Marlette. She is preceded in death by her husband; sister: Marilyn Voss; brother: Ronald Behr, and brother-in-law: Robert Palmer.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Pastor Dan Dickerson of New Life Christian Church, Saginaw officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery at a later date.
