ALICIA HOPPE
Alicia Hoppe, 77, of Cass City, died suddenly and unexpectedly with family by her side Thursday, September 7, 2023 in Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. She was born February 19, 1946 in Corpus Christi, TX to Clara Deluna. She married Melvin Joseph Hoppe on August 19, 1967 in St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Cass City.
Alicia worked at Sommer’s Bakery in Cass City and the Sugar Beet Factory in Caro until she stayed at home to raise her family. When she went back to work, she was employed by Little Caesars Pizza in Cass City starting as a crew member and working into a management position. Alicia worked at Subway in Cass City until she retired at the age of 72. She enjoyed visiting with customers when they came into the store. Alicia enjoyed casinos, playing euchre, and attending various church events with Melvin. She was fond of shopping and reading Christian books with a good cup of coffee. Alicia cooked her beans, rice and tortillas for everyone. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden and watching the birds. Alicia treasured the time spent with her grandchildren. She will be remembered by how she graciously gave to others and how everyone called her mom.
Alicia is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Melvin of Cass City; children: Emily (Greg) Darr, Michael Hoppe, Kevin Hoppe, Brian Hoppe, Hazel (Todd) Filion, Nadine (James) Kuntz, Matthew (Danielle) Hoppe, Mary (Larry) Randall, Janice (Brian) Williams, Tim (Beth) Hoppe, Arlene (Dan) Bozeman, John (Miranda) Hoppe, Sarah Medellin, Isabel (Keith) Fritz; thirty-seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren. Alicia is preceded in death by her mother; brothers: Arthur Hernandez, Tony Hernandez, Hector Hernandez, Danny Deluna; sister, Yolanda Gonzalez; grandson, Tristan Kuntz; great granddaughter, Layla Schenk; son-in-law, Frank Medellin, daughter-in-law, Christine Hoppe.
Funeral mass held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2023 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Ubly with Fr. Nate Harburg officiating. Interment in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Unionville. Memorials may be made to Kranz Funeral Home for the benefit of the family.

10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2023 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Ubly
