Obituary for Cindy Anne Opanasenko (Cindy Anne Opanasenko)

Cindy Anne Opanasenko (Cindy Anne Opanasenko)
47, of Cass City, died following a short illness, Friday, January 19, 2018 in her home with her family by her side. She was born January 21, 1970 in Pigeon, the youngest of four children born to Nick W. Opanasenko and Mary Ann (Agar) Opanasenko.

Cindy graduated from Highland Pines School, Caro, in 1995. She worked for many years at Cass Valley Enterprises in Vassar. Cindy was very giving with her time and volunteered at many places. She volunteered at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility since she was 18 and was recognized for her efforts there many times. Cindy also volunteered at Northwood Meadows and Revive Ministries. She recently suggested her church make dinner for our local firemen as a way to say thank you. Cindy was recognized in church for her many hours of volunteer service. She attended Camp Living Waters and participated in Special Olympics for many years. Cindy placed second in snow shoeing at the Traverse City Special Olympics. She loved Disney World and dreamed of one more trip there, this time in a motor home. She had a great love of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. The Judds, especially Wynonna, were her favorites. She won an opportunity to attend a meet and greet at Nashville Fan Fair where she met Wynonna Judd. Cindy loved people. She hoped to make it to her birthday party Sunday so she could personally thank every single person who sent her over 1000 birthday cards. She will be missed.

Cindy will be lovingly remembered and missed by her Mom: Mary Ann Opanasenko of Cass City; siblings: Lori Simpson of Cass City, Daniel Opanasenko of Cass City, Suzanne (Scott) Rockwell of Caro; nieces and nephews: Jeffrey (Nicole) Hartsell, Cassie (Tyler) Rygwelski, Brandon (Kaitie) Rockwell, Robby (Amanda) Simpson, Nathan (Alyssa) Simpson, Garrett (Mallory) Rockwell; great nieces and nephews: Natalie, Gabby, Alyssa, Hunter, Avery Jean, Brantley, Emma, Noah, and Ayrrow. She is preceded in death by her aunt, Joyce Walpole and her grandparents: Willard and Helen Agar.
