Obituary for Wenola Lowe

Wenola Lowe
Wenola M. Lowe, 84, of Snover died following a short illness Saturday, June 24, 2017 in Northwood Meadows Medical Care Unit. She was born May 18, 1933 in Cass City to Levi Jacob and Marion (Mellendorf) Helwig. She married Robert George Lowe May 19, 1956 in Cass City. He died May 28, 2005.

Winnie was a hardworking, dedicated farm wife. She was an amazing mom to her six children keeping them well behaved, building good values, and feeding them with wonderful food. All the bookkeeping for the farm was well organized and mostly in her head. She knew when everything was due and when all the family birthday cards should be mailed. Winnie loved putting jigsaw puzzles together, then would autograph and frame them, and give them to friends and family. As the children grew older Winnie took a short term job with Snover stamping which lasted 22 years. Her passion was watching Detroit Tiger Baseball. She also enjoyed watching the birds that gathered in her yard, especially the hummingbirds. Winnie enjoyed working in her flower gardens and she loved the grandchildren and great grandchildren visits.

Winnie is survived by her children: Ed Lowe of Snover, Ken (Sherry Flemington) Lowe of Cass City, Alan (Lynn Kilbourn) Lowe of Snover, Sharon (Marc) Fruhner of East Pointe, Gary (Tammy) Lowe of Snover, Sally (William) Pergande of Cass City; grandchildren: Amanda Calahan, Melissa Peake, Jonathon Lowe, Jill Lowe, Kari Storm, Kevin Lowe, Kyle Lowe, Michael Fruhner, Kaitlyn Fruhner, James Lowe, Jennifer Keeler, Lindey Lowe, Darrin Howard, Sarah Howard; 19 great grandchildren; sisters: Lenora Gingrich of Cass City, Joyce (Robert) McArthur of Cass City; brother, Elwyn (Linda) Helwig of Cass City; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother, Maynard (Nancy) Helwig; brother-in-law, Veron Gingrich; daughter-in-law, Nancy Lowe.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017 in Kranz Funeral Home – Cass City with Brad Speirs of Novesta Church of Christ officiating. Interment is in Elkland Township Cemetery.
